Hi Everyone,

I've been researching engagement rings for a few weeks now and I wanted to reach out on here for some advice. I read through some of the other threads and it seems like there are a lot of knowledgeable contributors to this forum. I am working with a budget of 12-15k.

Based on some conversations and pinterest inspiration from my fiance-to-be, I've narrowed her tastes to a halo setting (no real specific interest as she has pinned a variety of settings). I like a halo with pave band split shank setting and a round or cushion center stone which is similar to a few that she had pinned.

She is also not really interested in designer (Tiffany/Harry Winston/Cartier etc.), she would rather have something larger and of better quality that "sparkles from every angle".

Based on the research I've done and with consideration to the budget, I am looking to purchase an ideal or excellent cut 1.25-1.4 ct, F-H color, VS2 or better center stone.

Regarding the setting, I have read great reviews and seen some beautiful custom rings by Victor Canera in this forum so that would be a great place to start but I am definitely open to other suggestions!

Around how much would a VC Anne Marie split shank halo cost with a center stone size in the range above? Any other setting suggestions??

Also, I live on the east coast and think it would be nice to work with someone closer to my metro area (Philadelphia/NY - I've seen some nice rings by Gabriel in NY) and possibly include my fiance-to-be in the setting design conversations (I want it to be a surprise but she will be wearing the ring so if there are some tweaks that she is interested in making to the setting, I'd love to be able to include her in this purchase).

Any suggestions or advice from the community are much appreciated!

Since no one has chimed in, I guess I will. I think the AM split shank runs $4k+ from what I have seen around here.
(Someone else please pop in and verify).
You would have to go with a smaller stone to stay in the top range of your budget.

At Victor Canera you could get that setting with this stone

or

You might also consider Brilliantly Engaged. I think that setting would be more in the $3k+ range and maybe find a larger stone
while not going to the top of your price range.

Edit - here is a thread with settings made at Brilliantly Engaged (used to be Engagement Rings Direct...ERD)

Another setting designer VC ballpark is Steven Kirsch in NYC. He could create a very similar and exquisite setting, though you'd need to get a quote to confirm how close to VC he is. He might be cheaper, might be equal, might be more. If you go that route, you could get a stunning stone from Good Old Gold (Long Island), James Allen (east coast), Brian Gavin Diamonds (ships out of Houston) or High Performance Diamonds (ships out of Boise).

Here are a few options from these vendors.

They don't have any Blues in stock in budget (I cut off around 11k) but that would be a score and would allow a larger stone.
