Hello,

I come from Switzerland and I stumbled across this site when trying to educate myself a little about diamonds. I am amazed of how interesting and helpful this wonderful site is ! Your knowledge and comments are really great ! Image

I need your advice about an eternity ring that I intend to wear along with my wedding band.

My wedding ring is a Cartier lanières yellow gold band with gold squares alternating with diamonds. It is 3 mm thick and 3 mm wide.
I am very interested by the eternity bands from Signed pieces but since I cannot go to try them on myself I need sound advice as to which design would match my wedding band best.

1. Setting : platinum or yellow gold ? Since my band is yellow gold the logical choice would be the same metal but I fear that the diamonds of the eternity band show less beauty set in yellow gold than in Platinum or wg...Is this true ?
Is the Rafael setting much lighter and more beautiful than the regular facet setting ?

2. Diamonds shape: I am hesitating between asscher cut, round or square radiant. I have a thing for asschers, but the diamonds on my wedding band are small RB. Would it fit in spite of this ?

3. Size of the diamonds : would the 5 ctw sit well on my size 4.75 finger ? The ring would be 4.8 mm wide with regular setting and 4.4 mm wide with rafael setting. Does this 5 tcw (about .3 ct per diamond) allow to show well the asscher pattern ? A smaller tcw (about 3.8 to 4 ctw) would still be nice enough ?

4. Colour and cut of the diamonds : would F-G VVS-VS be high enough (even for asschers) ? Since the diamonds are not individually graded, what is the real quality of the cut described by Facets itself as "ideal" or "premium" ?

Thank you very much for your help !!
