Help Needed to Improve My Learning Curve on Picking Diamond

While I was shopping for a diamond in James & Allen and checking the virtual loupe picture, I notice some white lines or spots as in the picture, are they the inclusion? Thanks.

Probably just dust. Not likely to see the inclusions if the clarity grade is VS1. Have you compare it with the inclusion map on the report?

The inclusion picture in the report shows very clean and no inclusion in that area.

Also, for H&A diamond, what is the preferred % for the star? At WF, their ACA selection usually has the range 52%-55%, whereas some other vender has H&A selection with star >= 57%. Is "star" an important factor if the cut proportion falls under ideal as the following? Thanks.
