Can you get some real pictures of it, at least? The depth is scary...in the 40s.

If you click on the bottom of that vendors page on eBay you will see all the various shapes of diamonds they sell. Click on heart shapes and you will see that the majority of .70 to .80 diamonds are selling for $5K and up, wayyyy up.
The fact that this 1.87 is under $5K tells you all you need to know about that particular stone. It''s a dog I''m afraid, based on their other prices. If your GF wants a heart shaped diamond, then I guess that''s what she wants, but you will never be able to sell it or trade it for much. I can''t think of another shape that would have less value ![]() Ask her if she''s ever considered a round brilliant in a heart shaped halo? I ditto the suggestion to contact Whiteflash or Good Old Gold, or another Pricescope vendor for your needs. |

Hello :)
I''d pass on this one, like the others have already advised. Diamonds by Lauren do have a physical store, as well as an eBay shop and have a great reputation. They are also selling a very pretty heart shaped diamond at the moment, which you might like: http://cgi.ebay.com/90-H-Si1-Heart-Diamond-GIA-lovely-shape-See-in-a-movie_W0QQitemZ290203067907QQihZ019QQcategoryZ10213QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 x x x |

I''m not sure that there is universal agreement that Diamonds by Lauren has a "great" reputation. I''ve read several posts from unhappy customers in various forums. They sell some pretty rings and they also sell some real drek. At least they tend to be honest about the questionable stones (heavily included, badly cut, etc.). They put a nice spin on why the deficiencies don''t matter to them, but the buyer has to answer for themselves whether it would matter.

The seller does have 100% eBay feedback, and provides very honest listings, as you have said. They will also accept returns if the buyer isn''t happy - you can''t ask much more than that.
I think problems in reputation often arise when people post on PS *before* contacting the vendor. IMHO it''s always best to contact the vendor first if someone has a problem with a purchase. I haven''t seen any of the posts you might be referring to - so I can''t comment on those. I would personally be happy to buy, knowing I could return a diamond I didn''t like, or which had not had a satisfactory independent appraisal. x x x |
