Radiant Cuts are popular in colored diamonds to retain weight or color. If you want white light return in a colorless diamond the radiant has disadvantages over similar outline shapes like the modern cushion and princess cut as it returns smaller flashes and the light return is not as efficient. That being said the square radiant you posted is about as good as it gets in this cut, there is considerable leakage under the table but that is expected for this cut. The distribution of red in the ASET under the table and along the edges appears to be as good as its going to get in this style with the prominant 4 main x pattern in the centre. |

I think it is probably one of the most appealing looking radiants I have ever seen posted! I really like the shape and the facet pattern appeals to me. I don't know much about interpreting ASETs, but CCL is quite the expert so I would go with his interpretation.
What does Brian say about it compared to other radiants he has seen? His opinion would carry weight with me as I think with fancies seeing them is always important, either yourself or having a trusted vendor be your eyes. |

Thanks for the replies!
Brian said it was about the best ASET distribution you will find in a fancy cut like this. He said it was in his opinion an exceptional stone. What's amazing to me is that while I have had local jewelers spending two weeks looking for the "right stone" for me, it took Lesley (she works for/with Brian) about 3 hours to find this stone. Brian will be designing the setting for me, with elements from this Tacori setting: http://www.tacori.com/Engagement-Rings/ ... .obviously I will have a radiant and not a round though I haven't began the design process with him yet, but I am looking forward to it.I'm considering having them send me the stone for personal inspection. That being said, the amazing customer service I've received from Brian (and Lesley) makes me feel totally comfortable with the stone already. I think I'd have them send it to me mostly because I'm curious |
