Does a halo setting around a rb compromise light getting to the stone, as opposed to a solitaire setting?

Sometimes I overthink things, and I may be doing it with this, or is the above thought valid at all?

Thanks and Happy Hollidays !

This is the way I understand it...... If a diamond is well cut, the light should enter through the top and then refract back up towards you. A halo shouldn''t affect this. I''m sorry I am not very good at explaining the technical stuff! I am sure someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Miss Maise is correct! IF the diamond is very well cut, a halo should have no negative affect.

I assume you''re talking about a bezel set halo, and not a prong set halo?

Right, if it''s a prong setting, I absolutely wouldn''t worry about compromising light.
