Does 1.5mm melee (1.5 pointers) = 3mm halo addition???

Sorry to harp on but if you used 1.5 pointers (1.5mm) in your halo, does this add 3mm to you centre stone? What about metal? I'm getting so confused reading all the posts.

Example. Centre princess is 6.37mm add 1.5mm melee on each side therefore my halo measures 9.37mm. Am I right, missing something or is there a magic formula I'm not aware of?

Vendor would be best to advise. Depends on type of pave as well.
