IIRC it''s not a real skull. They took a casting from an 18th century skull - which was reburied later. The teeth are porcelain, although apparently Hirst had thoughts of using the real ones...

Mind you, it remains a fairly... controversial thing, even if it''s platinum.

Seems like a waste of diamonds to me!  Look at those lovely pears!
