First, I wanted to say that I am so excited about all this process and I can already picture in my dreams her face with joy when I propose to her. I am very diligent about every purchase I make so for one this important is taking me a while to decide. I just want to make sure that my FW will have the best ring I can afford in her finger. I posted a thread some weeks ago when I was trying to decide what e-ring to get my GF. My total budget is $4.5k so I wanted to spend $3k on the diamond (Princess) and the rest on a nice pave setting. I am looking at three different vendors (Brian Gavin, GOG, and WhiteFlash) but I am open to others.

I really like the Vatche Legato Sleek Pave that is available at Whiteflash ($1.2k). I would go with the white gold for that setting unless someone had any issues with the gold setting. I saw a similar setting at Brian Gavin but the WG price was close to $2k so it would make my diamond budget smaller.

Any suggestions on which diamond would pair up well with the Pave setting mentioned?

I have some diamonds in my target list but wanted to see what the experts from the forum can find.

I can't wait to have the ring ready and ordered. Hopefully I can get it done in the next week.

Thank you very much for your help!

If you can stretch a little bit ($300) to afford this one: <a class="vglnk" title="Link added by VigLink" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3025631.htm"><span>http</span><span>://</span><span>www</span><span>.</span><span>whiteflash</span><span>.</span><span>com</span><span>/</span><span>loose</span><span>-</span><span>diamonds</span><span>/</span><span>princess</span><span>-</span><span>cut</span><span>-</span><span>loose</span><span>-</span><span>diamond</span><span>-</span><span>3025631</span><span>.</span><span>htm</span></a> That would be my choice.

Gypsi,

That is a beautiful diamond and is larger than I was expecting to get with my budget.
I could definitely expand my budget a little to get this diamond. Do you see any major issues with the crystal and pinpoints inside the diamond? Also, I could not see from the pictures how colorless the diamond really is. Any issues with it being an SI1?

There are several nice ACAs in your price range (if you're looking from .70-.80), but I think this would be my choice:

If you pay by wire with the Sleek Line setting, it's $4,581.

Which do you have on your list?

E B,

The diamonds I had in my list were also ACA's:

Thoughts?

The .905 is missing the eye-clean "symbol" on the listing which (I believe) means WF doesn't consider it eye-clean from 10 inches away. SI1s can be eye-clean, but that particular diamond has a crystal toward the middle of table, which can be easier to see. There's a chance it could be an error/it could be eye-clean enough for you, so if you like it, call and ask a rep.

E B,

I called the rep at WhiteFlash and she confirmed that there is a dark crystal in the location you mentioned that can be seen without a loupe.

She suggested these other two diamonds (one of them was the one that you also suggested before).

The second one I would stay under budget. The color of the first one is great. But is the better color worth the additional $ amount?
