Hi everyone,

I'm comparing two stones using the HCA tool and am confused about how a stone that gets a HCA rating of Ex/Ex/VG could score better (1.3) than one with a HCA rating of Ex/Ex/Ex (1.6). Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

A lower score isn't better than a higher score, the HCA is an elimination tool only, not used for selection. The aim is to find a diamond which scores 2 or below in most cases, then evaluate the diamond using Idealscope images, trusted vendor input and your own eyes ultimately.

Did you want to post the proportions and colour, clarity etc for each diamond, then perhaps we can help, both sound promising.
