His designs seem far out to me but he has won so many awards and since he has a piece on permanent display in the Smithsonian Institution he must be competent and reputable.
His shop happens to be within driving distance which would be nice for custom work since Leon Mege now is off my list.
I'll bet I can tell him to keep it simple; and I doubt he'd "go Leon" on me.

There are two videos on his site.
He designs with a pencil instead of CAD.
Not sure why, but I like that, though I'd prefer a primitive wooden pencil over a mechanical one.
And he does wait for the client's approval of the wax before melting the metal.
I like that too.

Has anyone here worked with him or heard anything positive or negative about him?
Do tell.

P.S. Faceted pearls are cool.

He has done a three pieces for me for my clients. All were extremely happy with his work. One was a wedding ring, two were total custom designs around large pieces of carved gems. One was a dragon, and the other a Manta Ray. Both were totally unique and fabulous.

Thanks Wink.
It helps me a lot, knowing someone like you was happy with his work.
