Hello,

THis is my first post. But wanted to get your advice on this diamond I purchased. I bought it for 6600 as opposed to a G VS2 1.24 for 7500.

Stone shape: Round
Carat Weight: 1.2 carats
Cut: Excellent
Color: H
Clarity: VS2
Certificate type: GIA
Depth %: 62.8
Table %: 57
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Very Good
Girdle: Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.73 x 6.77 x 4.24 millimeters
Length-to-width ratio: 0.99

There really isnt a difference between 1.20 and 1.24, and G and H right? Thanks

I don''t see a photo in your post.

Also, I think the resident experts are going to want to know all the specification of your stone.

That is not enough info.
It could be a high or a low price.

Was it graded by a lab?
If so, which one?
What shape is it?
Tell us the
Depth%
Talbe %
Crown angle in degrees
Pavilion angle in degrees

Where did you buy it?
Craigslist? Tiffany? Online?

See if you can look on the GIA report for the crown and pavilion angles.

They will be something in the region of 34.7 degrees and 40.8 degrees. (probably higher with that depth)

We need these two numbers to evaluate cut.

Unfortunately GIA has a very liberal definition of good cut, and a 62.7% depth is borderline too deep.

Doesn''t the seller have a GIA report you can view online?
Can you call them and ask them to look at the report for you to get the angles?

The Diamond was bought from Amazon. So I cant see the report right now. Should I buy from James Allen Instead. I just found out about them and they dont charge tax, and have the report.

Edit

We still need crown and pavilion info, and images if JA provides them. Can you link the stone or copy/paste all that info?

as ask before, we will need the angles at least. Post the GIA/AGS report number if you do not want to reveal the stone.

Definitely request an IS for this one. It could be a winner - 35/41 is approaching borderline, but the 80 LGF is a mitigating factor here.

I think it''s awesome that you ordered and cancelled your amazon purchase. Good for you for doing a little research, finding pricescope and asking a few questions. It looks like it''s working out to your (and your GF''s) benefit.

You seem to be in a hurry... If you have some extra time, don''t forget to shop the other pricescope vendors. They all have quality product and service and most have different return policies, guarantees and buy-back options. I haven''t purchased from any...YET (I''m a slow shopper, what can I say) but they all have great reputations with references available.

Good luck!

Cancel the above!

CONGRATS ON YOUR PURCHASE!!!

Now - we didn''t tell you about the fee up front. The assistance you were given comes at a HUGE cost (just kidding)!

We''d like to see pictures of the ring when you are done with it!
