Hi all,

I currently have the following stone on hold and was hoping people would weigh in on this particular stone. One thing I''ve noticed about the stone is that it has slightly tapered corners. Is this going to affect how the stone will be able to be set, or otherwise affect the value of the diamond? The vendor believes the cutters in general are beginning to taper as they believe it reduces likelyhood of the stone chipping.

Here are the available stats:

in regards to the corners, i would consider the chamfering a good thing...it makes sense that it would help in reducing the incidence of chipped corners. and yes, i think more cutters are starting to do it since ags has deemed it acceptable.
i think you''ve found what you were looking for! well done.

I agree about the corners--having them trimmed back a bit would make them less prone to chipping! If AGS has approved of this, if won''t affect the value of the stone.

Looks like a gorgeous stone to me--congrats on a job well done! How do you plan to set it?

Thanks so much for the votes of confidence,

I do have the engagement band, but I am having difficulty taking a quality picture of it with my camera! It''s basically a 0.31 tw band, with two round side stones and a double pave setting covering the upper 1/2 of the band. I had my fiance to be pick it out since she''ll be wearing it for a long time =)

I''ll keep trying to get a picture of the setting. . .
