The cut on the round looks better. I suspect the bowtie of the cushion will drive me crazy.

Yes it is much better cut, but it's also 3 times more expensive for .10cts, so I'm sure that's part of it

$220 for 20. 19 CTS that's $10 a carat, and considering how well he cut this I don't see how it's not been snatched up.

I was just drooling over that one yesterday! Strongly considered it until I realized that it's huge and I'm afraid I'd never end up setting it. But I really want a PSer to have it so I can continue admiring it!

15mm is a stock size for stuller. Get a silver setting for cheap probably . They have pendants that size too if it's too big for a hand

Eta: oh he says you'd need custom? Well still, I think it's great

Its tempting to start a thread for outlandish setting ideas for this stone!

Be still my heart! Beau Patterson has this Cuprian beauty for sale. It is 4.3 cts, Mozambique and is clearly unheated. 12.45x11.65x6.10mm elongated trillion. $1,000 takes it. Can be found in the Fine Faceted Gems and Cabs group on Facebook.

I saw that one today and liked it. I think it would make an amazing pendant especially combined with a bright blue or green stone.

Very cool opal, reminds me of an abstract painting. I don't know if this is a good price for this material but the price is low enough that it is very tempting.

Boulder opal's hard to judge, price wise, because it's hard to assess its artistic value relative to its rarity and the amount of opal in it. You can buy pieces of boulder with similar amounts of opal in them for a third of that - whether the pattern adds the rest of that value is in the eye of the beholder! It is an awfully pretty stone...

Is that garnet on the dark side? I like the color in the first photo but not the second one.

Yes, it's a little dark. But I think the dramatic color change is appealing at that price.
