Hi Everyone,
It has been a while since I posted last time. I plan to propose my girlfriend by the end of this year.
My budget is around $20,000. Minimum criteria: 2CT, H, VS1.
I was surprised that I couldn't find any diamond from Jamesallen.

Out of these 5, I like 1 because of the price, 4 because of the size, and 2 because of IF.

Thank you so much for your help and opinion!

I am requesting ideal scope images for No.3 and 5 and will post here once I receive it.

Should I concern about strong flourescence since we live in CA. Based on my research, H color should be fine.

Thank you for all feedback.

The only one worth considering is #3 - the others are definitely no's. Look at GIA Excellent cut only. Even the excellent cut range is broad, and some stones are much better than others. Also use the HCA as a rejection tool (rule out those with scores >2). With angles, you need to look for ones that complement each other. As the crown angle gets higher, ideally you’d want a shallower pavilion angle. Of course there are exceptions to this, but that’s where the light return images come into play bc they could confirm performance.

These are measurements to help you stay in ideal cut territory with a GIA excellent cut stone.
table: 54-58
depth: 60-62.3
crown angle: 34-35.0
pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (sometimes 41.0 if the crown angle is close to 34)

Fluorescence is not an issue as long as it doesn't cause a hazy/milky effect, which is very rare but it's worth it to confirm with the vendor.

Thank you ac117. I over emphasized the importance of HCA. I will keep you advice in mind from now.

This is the picture of No3. They do not have ideal scope image. I guess this is too risky to buy it without seeing image scope image?

I will get pictures of those and will post here.

I really appreciated your help.

Because strong fluorescence impacts price, value, and liquidity it is an important characteristic to understand as a shopper. You can find an overview of the issues here: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/diamond-flourescence

Thank you! I got two videos of 8615586 & 8639236.

8639236 has a noticable mark around the corner. Will it be easily seen by naked eye?

Could they get you an ideal scope or ASET? Crown angles over 35.5 need one so the F depends on that. I do see the mark on the H but it may be able to be hidden by a prong. Remember, these stones are the size of pencil erasers!

Sorry. Forgot to mention that. They will send them by Friday.

How is this one?
