How does drinking water reduce your finger size? I never heard this advice before.

Hi Madam Bijoux, it's because if you're not drinking enough fluids your body will retain water to prevent dehydration. So drinking more water only helps if you are dehydrated.

You could always get the ring sized up so it fits in summer and get a smaller band in your winter size to put on top as a "guard ring" in winter to keep it from falling off.

My fingers will range from a size 5.75 in the dead of winter to a tight 7 in the summertime when it's hot and humid up here. I always have my rings sized to a 7 so that I can still wear them when it's hot out, and I put my solitaire in an old fashioned insert style ring guard in winter so that I can wear it without it driving me crazy slipping around. I can go through several sizes in only a few hours, depending on the temps of the room I'm in.
