Wow, that is absolutely gorgeous!!! I am very interested because I have a diamond that needs side stones and I have thought about rubies as I would like to make a ruby ring at some point.

I may have missed this within the thread, but would you mind telling me the size of the center stone and the rubies?

Diamondseeker2006 I am happy to share.
I think a three stone ruby ring would be DIVINE. I love red and white together and some rubies seem to breathe on your hand. For size reference this ring ended up being just over a size 5. If you are looking for ruby pairs I would suggest talking to Marc from Africa Gems many of the colored stones you have seen me post, and a few I haven't posted were purchased from Marc and he is always pleasant to work with.

Center Stone: BGD Blue 1.71 7.69x7.72 mm H/SI 1
Ruby Side Stones: Africa Gems 6mm each 2.11 tcw
Diamond Side Stones: Sin City Treasures 4.6mm G/SI1 .78tcw

Thank you LS! I am enjoying the contrast between the red of the rubies and the white of the diamonds. Aren't gemstones such fun?
I hope it brings good luck to the Crimson Tide next Monday!

Hmm...as a Gator alum, I can't quite agree with you, but in any case, I DO agree that gemstones are fun!

(Best of luck to you anyway next Monday!)

Thank you so much! I actually bought a lavender sapphire from Africa Gems back in the summer and am having it set now, so I am so happy to know that is where you have found many of your beautiful colored stones! My diamond is 1.65 and 7.6mm so just a tiny bit smaller than yours. That helps so much with proportions!

(I am going to say that I love red FAR more than orange, but I am from SC! I didn't go to the orange school, but I do have a niece there now! Don't hate me! ;)) )

Oh where are you having it set? You are right that is very close to the same size, I think a ruby and diamond ring would be fabulous!

I would never hate anyone for the CFB allegiances. I am going to the game with a Clemson fan. It is all good!

 Oh, that is good! Honestly, some people are absolutely crazy over college football!

I haven't gotten so far as to decide who would make this ring. I like Victor Canera for plain platinum or pave, and I like Caysie van Bebber for antique styles, as well as other possibilities. I have been wavering over side stones and whether to go with diamonds or colored stones. It would have to be sapphires or ruby to have the durability I'd want, but since I already have a small sapphire ring and might get a larger one in the future, I think it would make more sense to go with rubies. They can be quite expensive, though, as you know!
