Hmmmm... Japanese maple? small weeping willow? Need more close up pics of the leaves.

Neither of those. There are two in our yard. No idea what they are or how they are supposed to be pruned. I'll try to find a better pic (not home right now)

This pic isn't closer, but it's clearer. It looks like it is supposed to be pruned into the shape of a dome...packman...upside-down bowl.

It looks better now. Those are really old pictures. They are both fairly unruly at the moment and need some love. But it looks like they shouldn't be pruned until later in the year.

Without seeing the flowers , I'd say a dwarf weeping cherry.

weeping cherry was my first thought too. I think that's one my parents either currently have or they "tried" to have a few times and for whatever reason it does NOT like their acreage so they gave up buying them.
