I'm about ready to make a final decision on a diamond for an engagement ring. I've seen both diamonds in person and probably liked the smaller diamond more. Price difference between the two is 700. Based on what the jeweler said and after looking under the microscope the 1.36 is definitely a cleaner SI1. Below is everything from the GIA reports. Any opinions on either of these? Thanks!

Personally I would go with the cleaner of the 2, even if it's smaller, since the other specs are basically the same :)

Yikes, no, I could not recommend either diamond. Both could very likely have leakage. The first one is way too deep and it has a smaller diameter because of that. It also has a crown angle that is too high. The second one has a pavilion angle of 41.4 and that definitely does not work with a 34.5 crown angle.

Stick to these parameters as the GIA Ex range is very broad and some stones are definitely better than others:

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

If you like the size of the smaller stone, then start looking in the 1.25-1.3 range because that is the size that stone looks like.

I would definitely pass on both stones. Stick with the parameters that Diamondseeker gave you as those angles and %'s are most complimentary to each other.

Diamond #1 is small for it's carat weight and the crown angle is too high.

Diamond #2 has a large table and it's pavilion angle will make you sad.
