I would advise you to limit your search to GIA Excellent cut only. Excellent is a very broad range, and there are some stones within that range that we wouldn't recommend. A big problem with that stone and possibly the reason for very good is that part of the girdle is very thin and could be prone to chipping. I also don't think it is good for a girdle to range from very thin to slightly thick as it doesn't indicate the best cutting to me.

We will usually advise only buying a stone online if there are magnified images of the stone and either ASET or idealscope images so we can see if there is leakage or good light return. If this is a local stone, I would tell them that you want to see GIA Excellent cut stones.

Here are some good parameters to help you stay in a safe range:

Table: 54-58

Depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

girdle: thin, medium, slightly thick (or combo of those)
