Hi There...

Seeking a 1.5ct Princess cut diamond for my engagement ring.
Would prefer that it was G or H or better
Nothing visible to the naked eye

I am happy to take a look at a pre loved diamond if it is going to save me $$

I have a setting in mind.

If anyone can help please let me know

Thanks

General budget in US dollars factoring in all duty and taxes so your general budget guide in US dollars for the stone only?

Here are two stones that are AGS 000 Ideal (exceptional light performance), both eye-clean, and that meet your color/size requirements:

1.534ct, H, VS2

1.552ct, G, SI1

It will be hard to narrow things down without some idea of your budget, but here are a few:

My selections below are from James Allen. They have an extensive inventory, and you have to do a bit more work sorting out the wheat from the chaff, but you can get great prices. Also, since the AGS ideal cut diamonds above tend to have depths around 75% or more, you may be able to find shallower stones that still have great light performance and might have larger spread. I think these stones all have quite a bit of potential, so I would select a few that you like and ask for ASETs and eye-cleanness (especially the SI1s):
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/1.52-carat-d-color-si1-clarity-sku-532311 - probably my favorite among these, provided it's eye-clean and has a good ASET. Very good price for a D color and really nice spread.

I really like the H stone from Whiteflash. It faces up larger in diameter than the 1.54 H at BG and costs less.

OH these are beautiful choices everyone, thanks very much!
I see what is meant by adding the taxes etc when dealing in US dollars. With the Aussie dollar being so crappy at the moment it's almost not worth it.

I think I my have to go back to the drawing board with price, naïve me was hoping to spend $10K all up on a 1.5ct with the setting.
Hmmmm...

Is it worth looking at pre loved diamonds? To get a 1.5 at a better price? Will it make a difference?

Thanks
Cindy

The secondhand market is sometimes harder to buy from because you'll have less info about the diamonds, but you could find something beautiful for a very good price. Worth a look!

How about something just slightly smaller than 1.5, like the 1.4-1.49 ct range? (Edit: There's a big price bump once you hit "magic" numbers like 1, 1.5, 2 ct, so staying just under the goal gives you the look without the price.)

With the right setting, that could make a ring under $10k - however, I know nothing about import taxes, so if it's higher, sorry!

Thanks jstar..
I think this one is very pretty!!
I will look into it, I know there is a 10% tax included but with the way our Aussie dollar is at the moment it will most likely bring this diamond to the $10K mark.

Good idea about looking at a slightly smaller diamond.

Thanks
Cindy

Wow, 10% is pretty steep. I know of one good vendor in Australia - Jogia Diamonds. They provide ASETs, and you should be able to order online and have it shipped if you're nowhere near Perth.
