Thanks...can't wait to get him home! His coloring is a bit more from the Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour era than the mop top Beatle-mania stage. But I'm going have a Hard Day's Night until he arrives...wish there were fewer than Eight Days a Week between here and his home in CA. HELP! Can you tell what music I like?

Octogirl, thank you for sharing some of your process with us. You have created a spectacular collection of little cephalopods. :appl:

I love the silver ones with light oxidation, and the enamel baby with the SOC head and the champagne gold with the brilliant green head are so stunning!

I am going through the octopi adoption process! For the largest pearl in the photos, would you recommend rose or yellow gold? At the moment I am leaning towards 18k rose gold...

Lovinggems - I LOVE the colour and lustre of your pearls! Where are they from?

I think that rose gold would look amazing!

Both Yellow and rose gold would make good contrast I think, perhaps you could put something in YG and RG next to the Pearl to see which one enhances the pearl's colours better.

Gorgeous pearls, lovinggems!

Thanks everyone for your input, these gorgeous Kamoka pearls belong to the vendor :appl: . I will ask for 18k rose gold, but if Octogirl thinks yellow looks the best I will go with yellow.

Octogirl has a great selection of loose pearls I bet. She's always sorting through them when I see her out and about. She did visit Kamoka pearl farm a few years ago. Congratulations on your new baby.

So Octogirl mentioned 18k rose gold is more peach and 14k is more rose.
I tried looking for sample photos online and made this comparison collage, anyone has thoughts on the two choices?

I think it depends on your skin tone...for me, I cannot wear a very pink rose gold.

The only piece of rose gold jewerly I have is a SOC mabe on a delicate 14k RG chain. I too am a bit concerned I won't suit wearing a large piece of 14k gold. I should head to the shops and try on some RG pieces. Thanks Pirard for your input.

I have a few pieces of rose gold, which are very lightly tinged pink...I have tried to like more bold rose colored gold, but it just doesn't look good on me. The pieces I have are both 18k and 14k and lean more toward the softer pink than reddish, coppery pink.

I don't think you generally get a real coppery rose gold unless you go down to 10k, when there is more copper in the metal than gold. I think the difference in color between 18k and 14k rose is fairly subtle. Alas, I don't have the resources to keep both in stock, but perhaps down the line I can cast one in each color and take a photo of both together to show the difference.

I like the one on the left, as well. I think it's the ocean-tone greens that appeal to me.

Sure, I could bring a few to the Ruckus. It would be nice to get an idea of how many people are interested, and if anyone has a special request re: metal and finish, it would be good to know that as well. Do you think it would be better to bring them already assembled and ready for adoption, or headless so interested parties could choose a suitable pearl from one of the pearl dealers there?
