Does it have to be a Montana sapphire? If not, that opens you up to more choices. That stone also has a lot of green in it, which also lowers the price per carat, and I take strong objection to NSC calling it "vivid." It is anything but vivid.

No it doesn't have to be a Montana sapphire. It can be any sapphire. Montana sapphires tend to come in the colors I like. I also like that Montanas come from the U.S.

Check out African sapphires as well, especially those from Tanzania.

However, you can find sapphires like Montana colors in Africa, Asia and Australia.

Look for "greyish blue sapphire" or "greenish blue sapphire."

Here's a small one, but it's from Tanzania.

Well, to be fair, that's a 93 pointer, and the NSC one was over four carats, but still, $12K  for THAT?? :knockout:

Scheesh! :???: You can definitely do better than that NSC sapphire, especially for that price! Love the setting though - so would look for something similar. Australia has plenty of greeny-blue sapphires like that so don't forget to search for them too.
