Hello,

I'm totally new to diamond and I am looking for a princess Cut, my budget is $4500 max $5000 for a loose Diamond. I have been reading about it but still not sure what to look for. There is a Solomon Brother near me, what do you guy think of their prices? What I kinda have an idea that i want a H,SI1, Idea cut, what Ct would be in my price range? thanks

Here are 3 stones worth looking at.

All of these have great light performance and come from well-respected vendors.

I picked a range of stones, based on your budget:

.90ct, I, SI1
(well under budget)

1.011ct, H, SI1
(low end of your budget)
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2960825.htm

1.041ct, H, VS2 (top end of budget)

Thanks for the info and suggestion. Also is there a guild or knowledge base that help buying online? like insurance, repair, polish, for down the road, vs with local store we can just walk in?

here is a discussion about a chip in a similar stone: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/inclusion-chip-on-this-princess-cut.203064/

Maybe somebody else could give some advise on the chip.
I personally would shy away from it, but Whiteflash has a one-year buy back/lifetime trade-up on this diamond.

You could definitely save money by dropping the carat weight.
Thank you for bringing this diamond to our attention. Diamonds with chips or scratches, even if minor, are not allowed in A CUT ABOVE. The diamond will be removed from our site until it can be repolished.

Which one is this? I think it looks pretty nice. Lots of green, good amount of red, even toward the edges. Is it eyeclean? That inclusion is dead center, which I don't love. Not sure what the ct weight is, but it's in budget, which is always a good thing to me.

eta - i got the report to open. sorry, I'm not totally dumb, just having cpu issues! So 1.2 ct? Nicely priced I think.

this one is http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite/?childpagename=GIA/Page/ReportCheck&pagename=GIA/Dispatcher&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=1166154567

It is eyeclean to me, the Ct is 1.2

this also at the store so it also add a 7% to the $4801 and their setting is $250 more vs online with whiteflash.

So are you going to buy from WF? Save almost $600, not too bad.

Im deciding on one of the two option below,

option 1.
Diamond, really nice 1.04Ct $4920 ; http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3052154.htm
classic setting Platinum $675 ; http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/4-prong-tiffany-style-solitaire-engagement-ring-for-princess-428.htm

option 2

Diamond 1.2 $4801 + 7% tax http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite/?childpagename=GIA/Page/ReportCheck&pagename=GIA/Dispatcher&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=1166154567
Classic setting Platium $930+7% tax

0.16Ct different

any advise? what would you guys do

id go with the WF one. it will be lovely. and the difference in size will not be noticeable/negligible. i read on here that you need .4 mm difference to notice a difference in size.

Im ready to pull the trigger with WhiteFLash. Is where any other discount or cashback I can get my hand in? beside from $25 new member, and bank wire. At one point they give Pricescope member discount too right?

You might want to open a new thread with that question :) You'll probably get more responses.
