Sorry I could not take a better picture, and I could not copy the image from the website either. I think the color is nice.

Others can help if you post specs like the ring's weight, melee quality, degree of treatment on the emerald and if the emerald has a lab report from a reputable lab.

Not enough information. There is nothing about the emerald's treatment or color quality, and from that picture, you can't tell either. I suppose $1500 is a fair retail price for the mounting, but it doesn't say much for the stone. It could be synthetic, or a simulant.

Any better pictures?
Side view of the ring?
How transparent/translucent is the emerald?
What is the return/refund policy?

I am requesting a better picture from the seller.

Just wondering is this too good to be true?

Seems very likely from what little you have shared.

If you like the setting, it seems to be of good quality and you are willing to spend $1500 on it, and you have seen the ring in person and like it, does it matter a great deal what the stone is (lab created, treated...)? I think it is a very pretty ring and the price seems good :)

The setting alone is worth $1500 if its as stated. Which is good because regardless of treatments, if any, the Emerald looks to be of very poor quality and therefore not of much/any value. How did they arrive at vs1 clarity? I see several glaring inclusions. It's usually a red flag for me when vendors apply the diamond clarity scale to colored stones.

Without a lab report, I would take this information with a grain of salt.

Like others have said, $1500 is fair for the setting.

Ditto. If it is an untreated Columbian emerald, I would wonder why they are selling it at such a low price.

Agreed, although I too am guilty of purchasing stones labeled in this way before it is typically a red flag. Terms like eye clean or a list of major inclusions make more sense when dealing with colored stones. Best is a video/high-res pictures, even better is seeing it in person.

After seeing the newest round of pictures I will retract my I initial statement that the stone has little to no value. It looks like a pretty stone, "vs1" it is not, but it's a cabachon so it's to be expected. Even if it's moderately treated it still has value, atleast a couple hundred dollars a carat.

Well, after I saw the photos from the seller. I don't the think the setting looks so well as the pictures they used on the website. Do you guys have the same feeling?

I've seen synthetics that look like that so be careful if there is no lab report.

I think the setting looks good. The issue with the center stone. Ask if they will If they will send it for a Prestige Report at AGL, with the understanding that you will pay for the report and the ring if it comes back as untreated and Columbian. If it comes back as something else, you do not buy the ring or the report.

I bought a Grade A jadeite with a agreement like this, and it came back from GIA as untreated. I bought it and both the seller and I were happy.

For the price, I would send it to AGL for a gem brief (around $60 + S&H), as the price of the ring isn't all that much. The gem brief is a much better value. The prestige report can run hundreds of dollars. At least you would know it's a natural emerald or not. At this price, I don't think type and amount of treatment is a major concern.

The setting is okay. It doesn't knock my socks off, but it's nice. I prefer settings with something going on in the gallery, and yours is very low profile and flat, which may be a good thing with an emerald.

I have to agree with TL.

Is there a dark spot in the right side of the stone? I think I see something in the 2nd and 3rd pictures of the ring? Is that the inclusion?

Is this an online vendor?

Do you like the ring? We have as much information as you're showing. I think it's odd that the first stone was listed as VS when there are eye visible inclusions.

The settings look similar to my inexpensive ebay Asian settings, which were hundreds of dollars when I bought them. I worry about the quality of the gems if they're placed in settings like that, but then again, you may be getting what you pay for in this instance. I'm sorry I'm so skeptical, but when purchasing online, one must be free from all doubt, and I have my doubts.

With the extremely low pricing, I would be concerned that there is more clarity enhancement than stated and wonder about the quality of the setting (porosity and hollowed out under the melees), both of which nobody can tell from the pictures provided. What is their return policy?
