Do the lids stay on well? I have lapped them many times to replace my Tiffany ones but for that price point I am a little anxious about whether they can hold up to daily use.

If your ring is set high, it may not fit well with the lid closed. They have a ring fit guide for more info. Also, the box is very petite and delicate--I'm not sure if it will withstand daily wear and tear, especially w/ the vintage velvet used. I'm mainly using them to display my rings at home or to take pics with. They are definitely pretty to look at!

That's what I was afraid of. I think yours will exceed mine in height being a significantly larger size and all. But if these boxes are not gonna hold up to daily use, vintage or not, that's gonna be a problem. My Tiffany boxes are showing their use in the hinge.

If you had to choose your avc or this new ACA, do you know which one you would go with for long term? I am vacillating between the 2 shapes and just don't want to regret anything later. Marigold3--Regarding AVC's vs ACA's, it's hard to say which one I would choose! I think you need to probably go and look at both IRL and see what suits you the best. Here's a pic of both side by side for comparison's sake:
