There is a white South Sea pearl necklace out there for $840. At that price point it is AA/AA+ quality, baroque and ivory colored. But it appears to be well-matched, and has a nice size at 10.6 to 13 mm. A nice piece!

A smaller Hanadama is up now. At 7.5 to 8mm it is a lot less pricy. But, I'm sure still quite beautiful.

Will do! I am going out of town for Christmas and don't think it will get here before I leave, so it might be closer to the New Year when I post. I was really hoping somebody on here might have gotten one of these from the Black Friday sale and posted irl pics; but, I don't think I have seen any.

Well, a couple of nights ago at a Christmas concert, my 85 year-old mother was sitting next to my new DIL who was wearing her lovely ivory freshadama wedding pearl necklace. My mother happened to mention that she had never owned any real pearls, and had decided against wearing her somewhat decrepit 60-plus year-old graduated costume piece.

So, yesterday I hopped on out to the sale and chose this updated version of a graduated strand featuring an easy-to-use toggle clasp. It is on its way for a pre-Christmas delivery, and I hope that Mom loves it. It will be more fun than the clock radio gift that she already knows about.

The FedEx package with Mom's pearl necklace arrived today. I thought I would snap a few pictures before wrapping up the package and putting it under the tree.

The color and luster of these pearls is lovely. I see some pink overtones and the drop shapes are very sweet. I laid my silver overtoned 7mm 32" endless strand next to the new pearls, and you can see that the center drops are a very nice size. My fingers are crossed that these are a hit.

I couldn't wait. I wanted Mom to have them early, so here they are, over the blue turtleneck she happened to have on. I love the luster and size of these pearls. And, she was sooo excited. She likes the toggle clasp too, since her elderly fingers can't handle the circle ball clasps very well any more.
