Best Purchase of 2014

Best purchase can be anything you want. I am always delighted to hear what folks "best" purchases are!

I'll start.

Best $$ spent/purchases of 2014 involved subsidizing my son's rent for 4 months while he took an internship across the country during the summer of 2014. It was his first time away from home and although I missed him terribly, he did extremely well on his own. It was a great learning experience for him and for us. Hence money spent on rent (we actually only paid 3 months, he did one) and some groceries was my best purchase of 2014!

My niece had her first baby this summer. My best purchase was the crib and furniture for the babies room. The smile on her face as she was picking everything out was priceless.

My brand new 2015 Subaru Outback Limited with all the gizmos and gadgets. I just picked it up last week from the dealership after we had it built to order and waited 10 LONG weeks. I didn't plan on a new car for at least another year, but the accident kinda changed that plan. It's snazzy! It's like a spaceship!

Gosh, that is a tough decision because I like them all for different reasons:

A new Lexus RX450h (our first hybrid SUV/crossover)
my Tiffany Fancy Yellow diamond ring
my Fancy Intense Yellow diamond bracelet and pendant from Wink
my Cut to Order Crafted by Infinity diamond and Vatche rings
I even like our new 6-burner stainless steel Weber BBQ (well actually 7 if you count the side burner)
and not so much fun, remodeling the hallway bath, and a new water heater

Holiday bonuses for all of our employees so they can have a wonderful Christmas with their families this year!

Gosh, that is a tough decision because I like them all for different reasons:

Nice loot is always good! Last year I said our water heater was the best purchase and the year before our Weber BBQ. When it work, you just know it!

I wanted to ask what "color" your car is. Blue? In the (night) overhead light, it appears to have a purple hue (lordy, did I say that out loud?) Regardless, it's sweet.

A bottle of his favorite booze for a dear friend. I met him at the airport when he came to visit and we treasured a small sip of it prior to our drive to my home.

Then we stayed up for another before saying good night.

I shall always treasure that first hour of his visit.

A child-free, spa weekend with my BFF. We are both pregnant (so we couldn't have TOO much fun), but we promised to make it a yearly thing.

Best purchase was our tornado shelter. It was a must after the horrible tornadoes last year.
Best money spent was a 6 wk visit with family back home during summer. The kids had a blast getting to know their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The surgery for our little kitty -- she is so full of energy!

Close second is (hopefully) the money we paid our tax guy to do all of the paperwork to set up our company. I say hopefully because it is a really great thing if the business works out and just a waste of money if it doesn't.

Spent money spent this year was on traveling. We have shown our children 9 different countries and while they might not remember most of it I still want to give them the experiences that I always dreamed about.

On another note the other best money spent was for a organization called NEGU which sends out joy jars to kids battling cancer.

An extra large donation to our favorite animal charities this year. I didn't really want anything (not working and there is nothing sparkly that caught my eye as of yet this year) so we used that extra money we would have spent on gifts for each other and added it to the usual amount of money we donate.

Sharon, glad your son had a great experience and that was very generous of you to do that for him.

I went in on a house rental with a bunch of my friends and our spouses for a serious birthday celebration in upstate NY. It was so much fun to all be able to party and cook together in this gigantic Victorian house and no one have to drive home!
