Looks like round Tahitians with a similar color scheme and length.

YES that is the one It has been one of my favorite movie pearls ever since I saw that movie. She wears it through out too.

Ladies, we really started a run on Orbit clasps, didn't we I too can create a lariat with my 18" & 19" Tahitian strands, with a bit of careful fiddling with the orbit clasp. Only trouble is, every time I do, I look at the end, say "Self, you need a big fat Tahitian drop enhancer for the end ..." ... then I take it apart and wear another way LOL. I am on the hunt, however

I love your brushed YG Orbit clasps. I have Chenai on the hunt for a drop because I have two necklaces that I think need a big Tahitian drop enhancer pendant.

Okay, I've heard back from Hisano and I've decided to keep the necklace as is. It's already been restrung (I told her to pick the color she thought would be complimentary and I was fine with synthetic since it's a longer, heavier piece and I don't want silk to stretch) with a WG ball clasp laser. To allow for a lariat it would have to be restrung and reconfigured and I think the lariat style will have to wait for another project.

It will ship tomorrow!

Very exciting! I think you made the right decision with the synthetic...I just restrung a 38" 11mm that had been on silk...the gaps that opened up over 12 months..shocking.

I think you would have wanted it a wee bit longer for the Lariat anyway? That extra couple of inches helps a lot.
Can't wait for the photos!!

Well, this did not turn out how I had hoped. The necklace is 4.1 ounces and my limit seems to be 3.25 ounces. I'm returning this piece, so if you love -- grab it! Here are some pictures:

That's too bad, bsomlo. I was wondering about the weight issue, because I am the lucky beneficiary of one of your would-be Tahitian ropes from this summer.

I'm giving this one a pass, having purchased two Tahitian ropes in the past five months, but I'm sure it will go quickly!

Fly Girl -- I was thinking that as I bought it -- won't it be just as heavy as the gorgeous two strands I passed on this summer. Sigh. I just had to give it a try. Two more madama strands are not in the stars AT ALL! Those babies are very expensive!

crickett -- I could have fussed with it, removing pearls, but chose to leave it as it was intended for someone else to enjoy.

Bsomlo, I'm so sorry this didn't work out for you; the pearls are so intriguingly lovely ... but we don't want you feeling like you're choking! I think there are some shorter harvest strands on the schedule for Friday ... maybe lighter in weight?
