i am not exaggerating, my hubby has been driven crazy by me for the last two weeks. i was torn between 1.25 vs 2.0 ct five stone rings. my finger size is 6.25 and i plan to wear this as right hand ring. i.feel the 2.0 one would be too much for the office. don't want ppl to stare at my fingers during a meeting. but does the 1.25 one looks too small. here are a few phone pictures. top one is the 1.25 one. help!

I don't think the 1.0 carat would be too small. I have a 1 carat five stone and I actually think it's quite blingy. I usually wear it in place of my e-ring set. I wear a size 7. However, I don't think I would be able to say no if my DH was determined to get a 2 carat ring! :naughty:

I don't see any pictures? Try again?

What if you did a graduated 5 stone?

Anyone?

Here is a couple more pic of the 1.25 ct ring. I have to say this looks better than "I" color. It doesn't look bad with my e-ring, but I wonder whether it'd be too small if I wear it alone. I thought 1.25 would be perfect size for me, but wasn't too sure after reading almost all the 5 stone ring on this forum. Most ppl get much larger rings with similar finger size.

1.25 or higher, that's the question. :)

I prefer the 1.25. The 2 looks bulky to me.

I love substantial rings so 2ct looks great to me as a standalone right hand ring. 1.25 is on the small side. Maybe split the difference and go for 1.75?

If you are wearing it as a right hand ring, go for the 2.0. If you think the 1.25 is too small for your right hand, it sure isn't going to get any bigger. Or as another poster suggested, something between 1.25 and 2.0.

If you are going to wear it with your ering, I would go smaller than 1.25. For me, it would overpower your ering. I have 30 point side stones with a 2.59 center stone, and I think that it overpowers my center stone. I'm just a bling whore and have problems letting go. I'm am probably going to super skinny with my next setting so the center stone shines. But, I didn't really figure this out until wearing it this way for over 2 years.

I totally agree w/ LLJ--go for the 2 carat as a RHR. As a LHR, I think 1.25 is too large of a band to go w/ an ering.

The 2.0 setting could be a part of the 'bulky-ness, & if you have a choice, perhaps look at a few other setting options?

I have a 2.0 carat five stone by Memoire. It is a right hand ring and I wear it everyday on a 5.5 finger. It has never felt too big to me! Go for it!

I love big rings, I say go for the 2 carat! If you feel the 1.25 is smallish now, you'll probably feel that way even more after wearing it. I think the larger one looks great on you.

I vote for the 2ct too!!! I tried on a 1.25tcw and thought it was too small and I'm a size 4.5. I ended up with a 1.65tcw one which at first I thought was too much but now i think its perfectly fine and I could prob go larger! so I think a 2tcw for you would be a great size!

I have a five stone which is 1.74 tcw. I wear it as either a RHR or in place of my wedding/e-ring on my left hand.
It's extremely blingy! I know I wouldn't feel comfortable with a higher tcw. My ring size is 7.25.
So maybe compromise & end up between 1.50 and 1.75.

MGR...have you gotten a new one? Because the one I remember was 1.5 ctw, and that was exactly what I was going to recommend to her!

To jjlucas...I also think you can go larger than 1.25 but that the 2.0 looks like a little much to me. I think 30-33 points is the max I would go, so 1.5-1.65 cts., and I think that range has been the most common here. Have one made if they don't have the right size. For the record, I have one that is a little over a carat and I wear it when I don't wear my wedding set. But for a RHR, I'd want a little larger.

I have a 3ct 5 stone RHR and love it's blinginess :naughty: if it were for your left hand I would go the 1.25 ct. but definitely the 2ct for a RHR I think it's lovely!

I also wanted to add the 2 ct has a standalone feel that the 1.25ct doesn't for me :)

No, DS, about two weeks after that ring arrived I sent it back to Pearlman's and upgraded to the 2.0 one. There wasn't a huge size difference but it was noticeable to me. I wear it every day and love it!

What a great dilemma to have! I recently bought a 1.00 tcw five stone ring, size 4 finger and whilst I really love it, every now and again I wish I'd gone the 1.25. If I was you I'd definitely go bigger than the 1.25, especially if you're already wondering if it will be too small. If you feel that the 2ct was a little too big, then go with what some of the other posters are suggesting and look at 1.5 or 1.75. For what it's worth, the 2.00 does look great on you :)

UNBELIEVABLE!!! :-o I apparently did not see that thread!!!! I remember the first thread so well because of chasing down the UPS man, but I never saw the upgrade! MGR, it has been EIGHT years and all this time I did not have the correct ring in my head for you! That is terrible! So let me tell you belatedly...it is very gorgeous and does fit your finger well!

Congratulations! I think it looks beautiful and I do think the other one is a little too small if those are the only options.

No problem DS! It was a very quick turn around! I think it works because of the Memoire setting. If it were a U prong setting, I think the stones would have been too much for my finger. It is low and comfortable and not easily knocked around. I've worn it every day for all these years with no problem at all. Even though the shank is yellow gold, no one really notices because the shank doesn't show at all. I really do love the ring!
