Hello all,

I've found a stone that I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on. What do you think is a fair price, not necessarily wholesale, for this stone? I'd appreciate a high end and low end. Thank you in advance.

Hi Gilly,
Maybe there's no response because the question s so vague in detail
If someone is calling something 2.54ct E/SI1, on a street corner, they might ask $10
Craig's list...$25K?
It if's in a blue box it could be $125k
Or anything in between.

The first question I ask when someone has a diamond to sell us is the GIA report number.
Still doesn't get you the specific answer, but you'll get a lot closer to knowing what it is.
Lack of the GIA report, such as a seller substituting ANY other document is telling in itself.
Who's selling the diamond- I mean, is it a store, or a private individual?

Not enough information. To add the above from Rock Diamond. Well cut stones with great faceting and excellent light return cost more than poorly cut stones, as well. So that would be important to know.

Also please read these threads on cushions:

First thread, please read the advice to the posters in this thread and follow the links we post:

And then this one:

There are many more bad cushions out there than good ones. Those threads will give you the information you need to make an educated decision in your purchase.

Thank you. The diamond has a GIA cert, Polish: VG, Symmetry: G, Fluorescence: None. Does that help a bit? I appreciate you responses.

We can't tell you more about the stone without images. The lab reports with cushions do not have enough information on them to tell you if they are worth buying or not. GIA does not grade cushions for cut. Only AGS does, and only for a few select branded stone lines.

So you need images, and an ASET.

Did you read the links I posted for you?
