Following from another thread, and i apologise if this has been done before, i was wondering how many pieces of diamond jewelry ppl have. I know some may not want to participate as it may be an intrusive question; and that is ok. Its for a bit of fun for those that want to play...

Some considerations:
1) it does not include gem/ coloured stones or costume jewellry.
2) pieces that you own.. be they gifts or personally bought.
3) 2x individual earrings will count as one set; though some may have odd number of piercings. if so, that individual earring will be considered as one item.
4) wedding set will be considered 2 pieces, esp if the wedding band has bling. if wedding band has no bling.. it is not counted.
5) each loose diamond count as individual items, i know some have already considered them to be put into a set. and if they ahve been set aside as one set, they collectively would be counted as one.
6) if diamonds are on other known/ unknown accessory (watch/ cufflink/ toe ring/ other piercings)- they will be included in your list of individual items.

i think that about covers most things... it is a bit of FUN....

I have two 'types' of jewelry. My favorites are the ones I wear. It is a modest amount .

I also have other diamond pieces. Heirlooms and so forth. Those I don't really count as mine and I really don't wear them except for special occasions.

All together, like I said, I have a modest amount (I sold off a lot of my jewelry a few years ago) left that I really consider mine that I wear:
1 wedding band, Scott Kay from Pearlmans
1 engagement ring in a halo setting by Steven Kirsch
1 five stone bar set diamond band .75 ctw (pre-owned ebay find)
1 pair of diamond earrings by Kraiko from Pearlmans
1 emerald and diamond band (but you said no gemstone items, so I suppose that doesn't count) from Dover Jewelry (pre-owned ebay find).
1 diamond pendant by Brian Gavin
1 diamond necklace assembled by Brian Gavin.
= 7

That's it. by PS standards... I should probably be kicked off the boards!

Hi Gypsy, :wavey:

that is an impressive list... :appl:
i dont think it is a measure to get kicked off the boards for!!! but these pieces you own sure do pack a punch!

Your emerald and diamond ring would be counted as 1 item as that ring has diamonds in it...... i know i said no gemstones, and given your example, i should modify the rules.. unfortunately, i cant change it as it is past 20 mins since i made the poll :(.......

I voted 5 but when listing them just counted a 6th!
1/2 carat engagement ring
1/3 carat alternate engagement ring
vintage filigree wedding ring with diamonds (well, kinda diamonds, the rock salt looking kind. It was bought for the filigree, not the diamonds)
diamond eternity ring
two pairs of diamond stud earrings (0.7ctw and 1.68ctw)

ETA - oh! I could change my vote. How cool! So I did and now your poll is correct again.

Thank you greg, it's kind of you to say. It is easy to lose perspectives on the boards when you see so many lovely pieces, I suppose.

It's just that the 'want to buy' list is so long... that sometimes it feels that what I own is very very very modest.

I think if I had three more pieces I would be quite happy: Diamond Solitaire studs (1.6 ctw or larger), Diamond bangle bracelet, and a Bar Set Seven Stone band with 1.4-1.75 ctw (20 pointers or 25 pointers). I would sell my 5 stone if I got the 7 stone band. And it is next on my list. Though it will be a LONG TIME (if ever) that I will be able to afford it. Still, it's nice to dream.

I'm in the way over 30 category. I've been collecting diamonf jewelry my entire adult life, I have everything from jewelry with a small diamond(s) to bling with 3 or more carats per piece. I posted some of my older stuff on here a while back.

Not very many...I'm more of a CS person, really:

OEC platinum/diamond ring (1.12 center stone, .35 setting diamonds)
diamond/white gold tennis bracelet (5ctw)
diamond/rose gold pinky ring (maybe .20 carat)
diamond/white gold ring from my grandmother (.50 ctw)
diamond/rose gold OEC pendant (.52ctw)
diamond/platinum toe ring (.30ctw)
diamond/silver anklet (.15 ctw)

...I think that's it. I hope I'm not forgetting any of them.

Wow, I'm way down there. A half eternity, an etoile-style wedding band, a diamond & emerald eternity, and a watch with diamond bezel. The end. Everything else is colored stones, which I love more than diamonds.

- 1.08ctw OEC studs
- 1.51ct Princess solitaire
- 2.01ctw band
- micro pave band
- .85ctw OMC band
- 2ctw baguette band
- antique diamond pin
- .5ctw diamond band (in the works)

A lot more than I thought. But I have a LOT more colored stones. I have a lot of pieces that are colored stone AND diamond, but obviously didn't count those.

What about earring jackets? I believe each pair should be counted as a set separately from earrings.

DK :))

Huh, when I counted it up it wasn't as many as I was afraid I might have! Also, I have no single diamond over .75cts. So I have nine:

- engagement ring (which I counted because it's a three stone)
- wedding band
- .3ish solitaire pendant
- art deco diamond pendant
- half carat oec solitaire
- buttercup stud earrings (oec/omc)
- j-hoop earrings (little 10-point oecs!)
- .2ct stone that will be part of a spinel pendant
- tiny total weight boat-shaped victorian five-stone that I wear with the half-carat oec

But don't ask about how many colored stone pieces I have. I won't count them up because I don't want to know. Especially if we start counting cabochons and things like turquoise and lapis. Or jasper. I have a jasper problem. Let's not talk about my jasper problem. Or photograph it. It's just... it's a very pretty rock.

Lol distracts!

I forgot a few from my list. So we'll just qualify the above list by saying that they are the more significant of my diamond pieces.

Just two:
My grandmother's three-stone, north-south cocktail ring, 1.25 total weight.
The halo pendant for my blue spinel, with about 20 small diamonds.
I'm a colored-stone girl.
P.S. I forgot my grandmother's diamond-crusted dress watch, with about 45 tiny stones.
P.P.S. I also forgot the 15 little diamonds that surround the .45-carat ruby in what looks like a Victorian baby ring.
