Personally, I'm a fan of the G (2nd) from the video and the aset. I think the distribution and pattern of the facets is more pleasing to my eye, whereas I can see a bit of the leakage in the video (no flashing) from the D emerald cut.

Here is a thread from a long time ago which references a lot of images of emerald cut asets.

Thank you all for your responses and your votes. I think I see what you mean about the second diamond.

My understanding summarised:

1) Despite the lack of red reflections, the symmetry and the amount of green compensate to make the diamond a very good one.
2) Red coloured ASET is desirable but not always the only guideline. Predominantly green with good distribution of colours can also make the diamond good.

Yes.

There's not really any way for emerald cuts to be all red. The appeal of emerald cuts is in the flash and contrast between the facets. That isn't possible with an overwhelming amount of red. It is also partially in the patterning, to create contrast. You want the "rows" to flash at different points, not all together, and not one after another because then it just causes the illusion of one big flash. You loose the hall of mirror effect.
