Suggestions on cushion cut with Pave setting?

I am looking for a cushion cut stone with a pave setting. I've read a few topics around here where people suggested buying the stone and setting separate, but I don't know how comfortable I feel doing that.

My budget is $5,000 (lower if possible). I know caret size is not what makes it look bigger, so I am going with the diamond that appears to look the biggest in a pave setting. Please make a few suggestions on where I should look as I have no idea where to begin.

Also, when looking at diamonds, what am I looking for? People say look at the dimensions, but what does that mean? And what colors am I shooting for on the ASET picture?

What type of pave setting? A halo or just pave solitaire?

After reading around, I am open to buying a diamond and setting separately. With this in mind, could you guys recommend some sites for diamonds and settings?

I've seen some people recommend b2cjewels, but feeling overwhelmed on all the diamonds, so was hoping you guys could recommend a few for me to take a look at. I am hoping to get the diamond at $3,000 or so and the setting at $1,000.
