Hi Ladies,
i've been on the market for a 2ct cushion cut diamond and i think i've finally decided on the AVC.

However there are a few different options and i'm not sure which one to pull the trigger on, and i would really value your expert opinions!

Which one would you pick to get the best bang for your buck?
Diamond B is the biggest but also the most expensive :(, it also has a very old certification date. I believe this was pre-loved.
Diamond F is slightly under 2ct, but it's significantly cheaper and the width/length is larger than some of the 2ct+ diamonds
Diamond D is the only one with an IDEAL cut, but does the cut matter too much for AVC?
Diamonds C + E show the biggest discounts, but these discounts have been here since at least the beginning of this year. Are they on discount because they've been around for a long time?

Diamond B: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11621/
Diamond C: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12216/
Diamond D: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11734/
Diamond E: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12212/
Diamond F: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12402/

i made a little spreadsheet of the diamonds:

Sorry for asking so many questions, these questions have been bothering me for so long and i've finally decided to ask the knowledgeable pricescopers :)

thanks in advance for all your help!

First of all - congratulations on getting an AVC! Great, unique stones, and at the size you're talking about, they make a big impression.

An excellent problem to have, choosing from these top-notch stones!

Have you spoken with GOG yet? If not, I would ask them if there is a good reason to eliminate any of the stones you have in your shortlist (possibly due to eye-cleanliness or body color issues). From that refined shortlist, I would ask them to make a video of the relevant stones in a slotted tray.

That way, you can see them side-by-side and get a better idea of the differences (length x width ratio, specific faceting) from one stone to the next, to see where you preferences land.

Very exciting prospect!

FWIW - based on the info we have, this one is my favorite: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11734/

Thanks! i actually traveled all the way to their store last month, but i was so unprepared and overwhelmed i think i only asked to see 2 of the diamonds on the list.

I do plan on asking them to make a video for me, but they limit the video to 3 diamonds only so i was hoping pricescopers would help me narrow it down before i pick one :)

Got it.

I only see one stone on your list with SI clarity, which leads me to believe you'd prefer a VS stone (and this stone is SI2) - so throw the 1.94ct out.

The 2.16ct is significantly more expensive than the other stones, so unless you have a flexible budget or are really trying to maximize size, I would discard this one.

If you agree with this assessment, by process of elimination, we're down to these three for a video:

I personally like C best, and F second best. C looked the prettiest to me, was a great size, and the specs. looked good on it. I like that it has no fluorescence and was a whiter color. If you are leaning for a warmer color I would go with F. Both are very pretty diamonds and both better prices the B!!

Would you prefer an elongated cushion or a squarer cushion? Because there are two squares and three elongated, so if you figure out which shape you like more you can toss the others. Personally I prefer the elongated ones for the AVCs, so I would toss diamonds D and E and look at the remaining three.

I'm not sure who is helping you, but David has been incredibly patient and helpful for me if I ever got stuck.

You do need to decide which one appeals to you more. Elongated or not. You might have a video made and it will be really easier to see which one calls out to you.

I think the elongated shape is more unique and different from afar, but I can't really explain why the ones call to me when they do. This choice of yours calls to me, and it is a squarish one- I think the ideal cut one:

To be really honest, I have been head over heels for this one for a while: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8188/
LOOOOOOVE its charm and that culet!!!!! Swoon. And the price for a 2ct G VS2 AVC!!!

Also- try putting the dimensions in on this website and you will get a good idea of the stones on your finger:
http://www.diamdb.com

You can put in your finger length, size, skin tone... and don't forget to measure your monitor and put that in as well, for accuracy.

Let us know what you decide!

OH! Well shame after all your efforts to compare AVCs.
A pear sounds lovely though!
