Fluoresence Surprise

I had my little 0.3 emerald cut diamond up for sale on LT AND at the same time I was searching for a diamond with strong fluorescence.
Much to my surprise when I happened to check out the stone under a UV light it glowed a brilliant emerald green.
I was so amazed that I had to share the fun. It'll make a great top stone in a pendant.

I wonder how many people have no idea that their diamonds glow under UV light.
I love that there can be that hidden aspect to our stones.

I don't really understand why fluorescence is seen as a negative, it's a cool property brought about due to the chemistry that made them!

Did you know that the Hope Diamond has red fluoresence?

I prefer fluorescence when I have the opportunity to get it. I am just glad a large portion of the jewelry world is ignorant and prices diamonds with it at a discount!

I love that Hope Diamond shot. I didn't know there even was red fluoresence! I love that only one of the stones surrounding it shows any fluoresence!

I like it also, if it doesn't give a milky look in sunlight, it is a nice effect to my eyes.
