Diamond selected please help choosing the Ring Cushion Halo

Hi all,

I have decided on the diamond i am going to go for (i hope) and it is currently being held for me for 48 hours so i need to get a move on.

Now i have cone across a ring i absolutelylove and she does to, i found it in another pricescope thread here:

I have contacted Brian Gavin Diamonds and asked if they can make this ring. It is this here:

I would rather have bluenile make it but nothing i can see is a similar design. Although the BGD is a quadex i would like the cushion ive choosen to be used instead.

So can anyone help with anything almost identical from another vendor that would match the BGD ring and allow me to have the stone posted to them?

OK. I'm sorry. I don't get what you are asking.

You like the setting from BGD. You want it made with your cushion. That shouldn't be a problem at all.

So why don't you want BGD to make it for you? I'm confused.

Also any piece by BGD is going to be MUCH higher quality than ANYTHING by Blue Nile. My BGD pieces have appraised out at top quality, and I've had appraisers tell me that the quality is BETTER than some Tiffany pieces they have seen.

Blue Nile's quality is NO WHERE NEAR that. And actually we don't recommend them for halo settings.

Also you didn't ask me, but I think this one would be a nice choice: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/the-anita-halo-platinum-5950p but made more square to follow the outline of your stone (instead of a round).

And it's less expensive. And great quality.

Thanks for your reply as always gypsy.

I should have been clearer. I have email BGD and awaiting a reply. Im not sure if i will be able to afford their ring tho as the older PS link i think was $4k+ for the ring alone which is way more than i can afford so looking to see if i can get very similar design with any other companies or suggestions.

I will need have diamond sent to BGD also waiting see if thats ok?

I actually do like this would they make it for the cushion stone i want? I know she would love the triangular design that holds the halo part on.

OK. So the most likely reason it was 4k is that it was custom. You don't have to go custom. Because it looks like they turned that design into a standard catalog item with the Michelle. So that's good news for you.

This is 2700 in white gold and : http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/michelle-18k-white-gold-5563w18 And it is REALLY close to that one. And for 300 more you can get platinum.

And this one is 500 less, even: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/the-anita-halo-18k-white-gold-5950w18 and really lovely and would be lovelier a little more squared off for a cushion center. I honestly prefer this halo's proportions for that beautiful 6mm size cushion you bought. (yes, I'm sure they can make it for your cushion).


So I'd show them to your lady IF they are in budget, and ask her if she likes either of those, but made for her stone.

I think the quality is great and the price is much more reasonable than 4k.

As always your a star and put great ideas in my head. This is soo nerve racking particuarly as im on the other side of the world and essentially buying blind and cant see in person its sure a risk if you get me.

Last thing i want is to have her disappointed. I showed her some stuff last nite she didnt like and shes a bit fussier than i thought.

I love the Anita and if they can modify it to suit the cushion im onto a winner i think?
Its my budget maxxed out then so hoping this will be good.

I do want platinum over white gold if preferable?

Platinum is the best metal for pave. The difference is about 300 bucks. To me, it's worth it. But I'm not you.

I would send her the Anita just to make sure she likes. It you are spending a LOT of money. It should be perfect.

Yes i will get platinum seems best to me for a small bit extra. I dont want her to get any ideas in her head so i just randomly send pics sometimes messing and she usually says loves or hates.

The anita is round and she does not like round so will confuse her if that makes sense? But she did love the quadex halo pic i showed so if it turned out like that she would love it.

I dont like the michelle one tho. BGD chat is not working do they usually respond quick?

I have emailed BGD and im awaiting there reply and see if there chat works. I cant ring outside of australia and need to get in contact asap.

Ok Gypsy in a bit of a pickle

So I have been speaking to a guy Jamie at Brian Gavin diamonds and he has given me a good offer which I am considering

Now it is a 1.17 carat signature cut cushion hearts and arrows and ''I'' colour with AGS report:

Now this works out 1.5k more than buying the bluenile one but I can nt guarantee how eye clean and perfect the BN is as there are no pictures or ASET where as there is with the BGD one.

I am looking for your help

Would you pay the extra and go for the BGD deal and drop the BN as then I can be guaranteed a perfect diamond but I am dropping from a 'H' to an 'I' ?

I think you made the most "mindclean" choice. And that's smart. You don't want this process riddled with anxiety.

The BGD stone will be gorgeous. And the Anita halo is lovely. And you are in great hands.
