Mikimoto?

Hello, would anyone be able to identify this piece or provide me with any information? It's a sterling, pearl brooch with 23 pearls and is marked sterling. The piece that looks like a leaf has some carving into it. I cannot see any other markings on this piece. It has a very nice looking clasp and is very well made. Did Mikimoto produce any unsigned pieces?

HI BettyBloom! I don't know much about Mikimoto except for acquiring a few pieces from time in Japan but it is a striking brooch! I suspect that his trademark (outline of an oyster with an 'M' inside) would be on all of his pieces, though.
