Must Haves:

1. RG Ering- Check!
2. Solitaire Pendant- Not yet
3. Diamond hoops- Not yet
4. Small AVC RHR- Not Yet
5. Studs? Maybe? I love the jewellery I own, but I like costume jewellery for going out and whatnot. But I'd love the above pieces to complete my 'everyday' jewellery. I couldn't bear to spend money on diamonds and have them sit in a box till the next time I go out- which is never, I could be the crazy diamond lady who walks round her house covered in diamonds, yeah, I'm down with that!

Re: What is in your top 5 must have jewelry list? then next

As to Riviera necklaces I have to admit that I have a soft spot for them, so do I for Riviera bracelets (same as tennis bracelets). I am one that will wear my Art Deco diamond watch everywhere and also my Riviera bangle. Anything goes that is your style, why not? I am also more of a dressy person though. Recently I started wearing fancy pieces out a bit less but I still believe in wearing one or two statement pieces, that is it, I will not wear more together then it may become tacky. The reason I wear some of mine less frequently now is because some pieces like Art Deco are very prone to damage, perhaps antiques are really not for everyday wear but I wore my watch every day and it got minor damage three days in one year. I can see a Riviera getting a lot of use although I would likely not wear it on an everyday basis and perhaps not so much during the day but if you like that why not? One may be concerned about safety but as it was stated thieves often think such pieces are fakes as they (at least where I live) identify pieces as valuable when they are big chunky yellow gold pieces but cannot identify diamonds; most here would think that I am wearing Swarovski. I am actually happy about this aspect because only me and those who know something about diamonds and jewelry can identify what I am wearing and that is plenty enough for me; I do not wear my jewelry to show off.

Would love to share photos of my ER and emerald RHR. They really are my pride and joy-the ER is 27 years old now and the emerald is 12 years old. I am just an idiot when it comes to taking photos and getting them to the computer. I only went digital last summer-I had to be the only hold out with film. I have never pasted a doc or attached a file in my life. But I promise I will get my kids or hubby to show me. I have to take the plunge soon. Please be patient-I will show you. Thank you for your interest...You have motivated me.

I second the notion for sharing pix.:))) Would certainly love to see your pride and joy Lambskin. I am especially curious what that emerald is like. Can we have some specs on your pieces? You got a wonderful collection. I would also love to see the pieces others own even if it means linking other PS threads.

Re: What is in your top 5 must have jewelry list? then next

I thought I would revive this thread because several people had items pending and we need updates!! And pictures!

Here is my list:

My "musts" (pieces I wear every day and should be perfect!):
1. Ering. My new sapphire three stone ering should be back from having a tweak very soon. Then a SMTB post to follow! Check!
2. Wedding band. My 2mm platinum wedding band is the perfect compliment to my new ering, so, check!
3. Diamond studs. I am saving for these now. I will probably get a pair of 5mm to enjoy while I save for my dream 6mm pair.
4. Cartier watch. I'm hoping to request this for my 40th in a few years. Wishing it would get here already. This could be a new strategy for accepting aging! If I'm lucky I'll get the fabulous Seiko that Ame got to tide me over.
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/seiko-presage-sry001-straight-from-japan.202675/

My second tier "musts" (pieces I wear a few times a week and are worth investing in high quality):
1. A diamond band for a more casual ering options or RHR. I have my beloved AVC five stone that I have worn daily since I received it two years ago. I am curious though how much it will get worn once I have my new ering. Check!
2. An everyday diamond necklace. I have my DBTY which I have also worn daily since receiving it a few years ago. I love it! It's probably not a forever piece but certainly a favorite right now. Check!
3. Some piece with rubies. Ruby is my oldest son's birthstone and I adore them, so a must, right? I'm thinking an antique or antique style platinum pendant? Or bracelet?
Something like this with a ruby center stone:
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/necklaces/38PP3/
Or this stunner bracelet that I've loved forever:
http://www.kwiat.com/fine-diamond-jewelry/kwiat/p/170132/4/0/0

My wants (pieces that make my heart beat fast!):
1. A yellow gold textured Single Stone band ala Coati. I am obsessed with this ring. It doesn't really work with anything else that I have and it's expensive for a plain band ($1K) but it's perfect and probably the only Single Stone I'll be able to afford!
http://www.greenwichjewelers.com/shop/designers/single-stone/products/single-stone-22k-yellow-gold-band-2-mm
2. A yellow diamond pear in a yellow gold bezel pendant. Sub one carat. A little drop of sunshine to wear on long gray winter days. Something like this (but not Tiffany to avoid the mark up):
http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=27054471&mcat=148204&cid=287465&search_params=p+1-n+10000-c+287465-s+5-r+1012531876-t+-ni+1-x+-lr+0-hr+-ri+-mi+-pp+1240+3&search=0&origin=browse&searchkeyword=
3. A black opal statement piece. Either pendant or ring. Looooooooove black opals.
4. A big amethyst cabochon pear pendant on a long black velvet cord.
5. A long yellow gold gemstones by the yard with various stones I collect.
6. A diamond bangle bracelet (if I could find something dainty that could safely be pair with a fine watch, this might become a "need"...)
7. White South Sea pearl drops for my diamond studs.
8. A huge diamond honker (3ct+ ACC) with a variety of awesome bands to pair with it. After I win the lotto.

Fun to dream!!

Hey RB!

I know it is not Single Stone but someone posted this ring the other day and i'm pretty won over!

https://www.etsy.com/listing/169541222/solid-24kt-our-most-popular-square?ref=shop_home_active_21

Credit for this find goes to the lovely nowicanseethemoon!!!!!!! I emailed the etsy shop to see what pricing is for a 1.5mm version.

I know someone who had this jeweler make her spacer- she just emailed me the link this morning, as a matter of fact.

Also, RB (fellow Domer, right??), check out Ravens Refuge: http://www.ravensrefuge.com/products/bands/2mm-21k-full-round-textured-ring-page

It's "only" 21kt, not 22, but looks identical and much less money!

Re: What is in your top 5 must have jewelry list? then next

Just bumping this thread because I had to review what I thought I wanted. I am on my way with the tennis bracelet, but was having cold feet/second thoughts. I just want to make sure this would be a daily/frequently worn piece for me.

Any new contributions?

Oh, and I did get one of my basics checked off.

My must haves?

1. 4ct OEC - very lucky to have a tick against this one
2. Wedding band - tick
3. Diamond studs - OECs recently purchased from Love Affair Diamonds. TICK! And haloed 1tcw diamond studs also.
4. Diamond Jackets and drops - commissioned for my 5 year anniversary. TICK
5. 38 inch Tahitian necklace - tick!

My wants beyond that?

1. 1.5tcw hoops - tick!
2. An OEC three stone - original antique would be great but am erring towards something newly made with OECs.
3. A step cut - am thinking a coloured stone, maybe a pink tourmaline? Set with a baguette diamond halo!
4. A strand of amazing south sea pearls, like 12-16mm
5. Another eternity ring - perhaps baguettes or carre cut stones?
6. A diamond bangle. I am not much for bracelets but I would really like a new bangle!

I love thread like this, too! There's a long-running one in Hangout that I update periodically (here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/a-realistic-wish-list.149998/)

Here's what I last said there (cutting and pasting because, a) I'm lazy, and, b)I'm consistent ...):

Ooo, I like this idea of revisiting the list on a regular basis! So, okay, first, the original list:

Circe|1285250124|2717902 said:
Hmmmmmm ... well, my next project is a ruby pendant which I'm obsessing over - does it count as a "wish" if it's already in the works? :rodent:

- pear-shaped ruby pendant, 1.11 carats, Burmese, unheated, bezeled in platinum
Done and done! Oddly enough, I wear it a lot less than I thought I would: looks like I'm less a stacking necklaces girl in my 30s than I was in my teens. It's a pity, 'cause while it took a little back and forth with the jeweler, it really turned out beautifully. Bah! Damn my fickleness - or my constancy, I suppose: as much as I wanted the ruby pendant, I just wear my bezeled pear all the time.

And after that ...

- diamond studs, 1.30 or so TCW, bezeled and milgrained
Done and done! They would up being 1.43 tcw, H SI2, courtesy of ID Jewelry, and I loves them, precious, yessssssssss.

- pear dangles, 2.5 TCW (which, practically speaking, means buying another diamond to match the one that I wear as a pendant so I can occasionally wear them as earrings instead, though I keep waffling on whether or not it will be a waste to have one of them in a box a lot of the time: practically speaking, probably not, since most people don't wear their fancy earrings 24/7, after all).
Still not king. I still like this idea, but it's receding in terms of immediacy, as I just had a baby, and, well, dangly earrings and grabby little hands seem like an iffy combination to me. But in the future. :)

- once I attain all these other laudable goals, and probably for a big anniversary, perhaps an even bigger pendant. Perhaps 2.5 or thereabouts?
Still a thing, but again, morphing a little - I've fallen in love with AVCs, and I think one would look gorgeous in a really ornate carved pendant. This may be what I'll dream of for, like, the 10th anniversary - a nice, warm, creamy AVC with strong fluor measuring around 8 mm square.

- a chunky baguette band in plat., with vertical baguettes - I love that look. For that matter, you can toss in a princess band and a bezeled marquis band.
Did I say vertical? Oops! I meant horizontal (not retrofitting, I really did!) - done twice over, as I got my 2.5 carre band for my birthday, and my 4 carat chunky emerald-cut band as an early anniversary present. Yummy - I wear these all the time. I was nervous that my ring size would change post-pregnancy, but glory and hallelujah, the pudge is slowly receeding.

And ... I think that's it, at least for the near future. I am imaginarily glutted. For some reason, things like bracelets and hoops just don't occupy my greed like pendants and earrings. :rodent:

In term of h unpredicted present - heh, I may have spoken too soon, as another of the year's purchases was my beloved platinum deco ruby line bracelet, which I adore. I also got my ears pierced a few more times, and spent 9 months dreaming idly about getting smaller studs in yellow and rose gold to follow a graduated line up from my primary 1.43 studs - well, lo and behold, the husband got them for me as baby bling. :rodent: Which is excellent, because I can wear them with the unexpected acquisition of my first Tiffany piece - an Egyptian revival yellow gold necklace set with turquoise (nice and short and strong, so I can wear it with the baby without fear). I love it when [the lack of] a plan comes together!

And for the revised future? I want:

- a nice, long, strong platinum chain for my pear: I currently wear it on a thick 20" platinum chain, but with the baby, it makes me nervous. So ... maybe twice as thick, and 24"? Am hoping to get this for my birthday.

- the aformentioned AVC pendant to wear on it alternately

- as a means of getting to the AVC of my dreams, after seeing a charm bracelet with differently shaped diamonds bezeled, I WANT one. I could start with a little AVC ... then get an asscher ... and maybe a navette ... on and on and on.

- the gorgeous shivery bib necklace of teeny-tiny bezeled rounds that I tried on at the last meet-and-greet. It's 4K for less than .75 tcw, but it's so beautiful.

- pearl drops. Big ones. Say, 14-16 mm? In a nice, rich, creamy white.

- a diamond crescent brooch already! I've been on the lookout for years, but I've yet to find one to call my very own. I saw one on eBay before I bought my earrings at 2.5 carats of big chunky old cuts, but virtuously passed it up as I was trying to maximize my earrings. Idiot! It went for less than $500, a deal I doubt I'll see again.

That's all I can think of for the moment - but we all know that's subject to change, don't we ....

The pear dangles, the AVC pendant, the bezeled diamond bracelet, the crescent brooch, and the bib necklace are all still on the list. BUT I finally got the long platinum chain, which is seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made. :rodent:

My official 5 year anniversary is coming up this year, and I'm stumped trying to figure out which piece from the list to go for - and we should add a nice watch to that list! I need to go to 47th St., and see what catches my eye ....

How about you ladies? Any alterations?

Is it time to resurrect this thread yet? I HOPE SO! I managed to spend the year acquiring jewelry it never even occurred to me I needed ... got obsessed with french cuts, got a gorgeous [french-cut] watch, a big ruby band, and now a Van Craeynest set, which was implied to be on there.

Currently on my realistic wish list:
- an AVC
- an eye-visibly fluorescent stone
(I am perfectly okay putting my hands together on these)
- graduated bezel earrings like the ones I wear now, but with old cuts. I realize this would be redundant, but the heart wants what the heart wants!
- something by SingleStone, probably one of their gorgeous horizontal bezeled bands
- still want that pretty shivery bib necklace
- still want to start a different-shapes diamond charm bracelet
- and while I don't know how realistic it is ... I want an old-cut riviera. There. I said it.

So add me to the list of ladies who'd wear a riviera everywhere from grocery shopping to gala-hopping. I have a paste riviere that's probably roughly equivalent to a 30 carat diamond necklace, and I wear that bad boy all the time.

As for realistic things to scratch off the list ... it's not an AVC, but it IS a beautifully cut OMC with a perfect maltese cross and a teeny table, in an original deco setting. ALMOST THERE. Assuming I am good over the weekend and go on a last listing push, it might be in my hot little hands as early as next week! I am currently keeping myself going by staring at pics of it compulsively. Here it is loose .... it reminds me of some of the beautiful warm cushions that I've loved obsessively on here since back in the day ... Tiger007's, Haven's, Ganesha's, etc. I can't wait to have one of my own to ogle endlessly!

Oh my goodness  where are the rest of these pics you're supposedly staring at? Of course you weren't planning to post just the one...

Actually, I looked at that pic and immediately thought of sonomacounty's beauty (1.37 P bought from mlopros and patched up by GOG) http://vimeo.com/4149987

(Okay, I feel sorta creepy... other PSers stalk other PSers' diamonds, right?)

I don't have a top 5. How about a top 3?..

1- a 2.5-2.75ct H&A rb
2- a 3.5ct Octavia
3- three nice high end mechanical watches.

Question about item 2. Is this pending, or do you have the stone???
