Here's an indoor picture, could just be a bad photo/camera. According to seller, the stone darkens indoors as any other gem.

Edit: Sorry, I should clarify, this was taken inside a closet under incandescent lighting. I had asked for pictures on how it would look indoors under artificial light. I love all the other pictures of the stone, this is the only one I am uncertain about and only because I've never owned a pale coloured stone before. Iv'e heard they can move into brown easily.

I don't think pale stones typically brown out easier than darker toned ones. The white balance is a bit off on that photo, so it's hard to tell what it will look like IRL. I have the same difficult problems with white balance and artificial light on my camera, so I can relate. Did you ask Julia if it will turn more brown in various lighting? There could be camera shadow on the stone too, which would also make it look darker.

Good size, decent cutting for non-precision, and so pretty…

Thanks TL! I bought it last week, I'll post pics when I get it.

Kama,
Looking forward to your review. Sometimes, when you've mulled over it long enough, there is no other decision to make than to see the stone in person.

This is a gorgeous stone, but I don't understand - how is it between 10 and 15k - given the choice between 10 and 15, wouldn't any purchaser prefer to pay 10? 10 is a stretch for most folks, but it's far more in reach than 15

I hope I'm not breaking any vendor rules here! To clarify, an estimated price range was given to a prospective customer before the AGL report was received, with the caveat that final price was contingent on the results of the AGL report. Now that I have it I can verify that the price is at the top end of this range.

Best regards,
Gary

Sorry I wasn't clear, but Gary has clarified above. I was just very eager to know more about this beautiful stone and asked before Gary had any concrete numbers. He very kindly obliged, rather, gave in to my demands!

Kama & Gary,

Thank you for the clarification - I genuinely misunderstood - whoever ends up owning this stone will be very lucky to have it :)

Kama, I got distracted by Gary's stone - I think your new ring is going to be beautiful, and I can't wait to see the pics!

Actually, I think its a good buy for what it is. :))

He has lots of other nice sapphires, more in the realm of affordable.

It is a decent price for something so amazing -- I meant my eyes popped at the amount of goodness there & what you have to part with to get it. :cheeky: Almost worth selling the house & living in a tent -- who needs a roof when you can cuddle up to that sapphire?

I am such a sucker for blue sapphires! Here is one at a good price that was just begging to be posted here. Its from John Burleyson at Gemrite. Stats on Stone: Blue sapphire
Weight: 2.31 cts.
Clarity: VVS
Dimensions: 7.73x 6.29x 5.65mm
Design: Round brilliant modified
Origin: Ceylon, Sri Lanka
Treatment: Heat only
Cut by: Native cut in Sri Lanka
Notes: This is a beautiful blue sapphire. The tone is a nice medium blue and the stone's color is vibrant.
Price: $3,150

This will not last long at this price!

Yeah, it's "medium tone" often called corn flower blue. I've always been a royal blue lover (as dark as you can get without seeming purple or black).

Leibish recently put these two diamonds up -- the colour reminds me of padparadscha sapphire.

The pear is fancy orange brown, 0.61ct.

The oval is 0.89ct and fancy orangy pink! (and much more expensive). Both are IF.

Really amazing colour for fcds imo.

Funny how all things being equal, the pear looks more intense in color than the FOP...
