Second guessing my ring design. Please help!

Fortekitty dropped the diamonds off that I bought from her with David Klass today. I asked her to take some photos of them in the wax of my new setting. I think it looks really bulky. I don't know how to keep the design but adjust it so it's not so chunky. I really need help!

I'm not expert so hopefully someone with experience with wax can chime in-but I think a LOT of it will be taken off during the refining and engraving process. I think everything will be much more fluid too-but then again I've never had a custom ring made but those are just my thoughts on it :)

I agree with VL. It is just going to be a lot different once all the cutouts and engraving are done.

So the ring will be less bulky once it's finished? That's reassuring! I wonder if the perspective is a little off on that first photo as the other pics I have don't look that chunky.

On the CAD it shows the hight as 5.08mm. This is exactly the same height as my halo setting. I'm happy with that.

Please keep in mind that this is the wax model of your setting. Your finished piece should be much more streamlined. I think it looks great, but I am biased. It is very similar to my engagement ring, which sits low on the hand, doesn't snag on anything and is very comfortable to wear.

I've spoken to David and have asked for a slight reduction in the height and I realised the side view wasn't quite the same as the inspiration pic so he is going to adjust that too. I will post the cads he sent me after I asked him to change the size of the shank.

It's going to be beautiful! I have a similar ring and it's very comfortable to wear. What are the sizes of your center stones again?

Thank you for the replies :))

Hopefully I will see the new cads before the ring is made so I will come back and share them.

I think this wax is so beautiful as is! When are you having the ring cast?

I think the changes you asked for -- reducing the depth of the " steps" and thinning the shank --are just right and will give you the look you want. It is going to be amazing.
