Jimmianne, do you know what color/clarity your mother's ering is? It looks like such a beautiful stone!

If I recall correctly it's a G/VVS2. Exactly my own "sweet spot" these days : )
It's really starting to sing to me. When I first came on PS and posted that I didn't know what to do with it, I thought is was gigantic and didn't realize how pretty it was. I knew it had sparkle, but I didn't know one iota about cut. Now I realize what I have ---- and it's not only this beautiful thing, but I also have an ongoing severe case of OCD diamond fever

Love this thread! I never get tired of looking at everyone's beautiful solitaires. I used to think I wasn't a solitaire girl... until I got one of my own and fell in love. 1.75 ct, size 5.25 with .7 ct, 7 stone (soon to be upgraded to eternity) wedding band.

And here are a few pictures of my solitaire, 1.81 H SI1 3mm tapered to a point towards centerstone, with 6 prong crown head. Edited to add that my rings are sized 5.25 to 5.5. Can't remember which ones are which size

Here is my .64 H VS2 expert selection in a thin version of the basic 6 prong setting,
I purchased this with the intention to upgrade to a .9 and have it set in to something more intricate ,
Now I just want a new head built for the setting & if I go bigger it won't be past .85ct I think this is a lovely size & it seems to get bigger to my eyes every day lol

I can post! Originally, my ring was set in a band with channel set princess cut diamonds, however, I had her reset as a simple, beautiful solitaire.

My EC is 2.21 F VS1

err... I'm not so sure why the 2nd picture is not showing the correct way

Here is my little poorly cut 0.33 G SI1 solitaire (local jeweller) with plain band (from e-wedding bands) and a 0.22 ctw pavé band (local jeweller) I sometimes wear with it. I will be upgrading to a 0.65-0.75 well cut stone in the future, but I intend to keep the same set, just change the head, because I like it.

I came across some nice lighting today and snapped a few iPhone shots since I hadn't added my ring to this thread. There are better photos (arrow shots and such) that I took on my camera years ago, but you get the idea. It's nothing extraordinary compared to the beauties in this thread, but I love it all the same. It's a 1.35 H VS2 AGS0- recut by Brian Gavin while he was still at Whiteflash. I often fantasize about resetting to a Vatche Swan or maybe even a sleek semi bezel, but this setting was shaped to match my wedding band which has tons of sentimental value. Anyway, here she is!
