so I'm reading a tale about a too-rich, too-handsome man who ends up buying an engagement ring for his to-be-wife: "The diamond solitaire was a forty-carat, D-flawless, emerald-cut stone that had just come on the market. A rare jewel that appears in the cutting rooms perhaps once every ten years."
but on the cover to the sequel (in which they get married), there's a photo of a cushion cut ring on the cover! and DEFINITELY not 40carats - I'd put it at an moderate 7mm perhaps. which though sizeable, is NOTHING near a forty-carat.
I blame you guys for the fact that I take notice of such things now
