Vancouver BC PSers: recs for food and haircut??

I'm going to be in Vancouver for about a week: any great hairdressers who can cut curly, wavy, long hair? Price isn't an issue if the person is good. Also, any great places to eat: cheap, expensive, I don't care as long as it is yummy and adventurous---"ethnic" welcomed!

We'll be in Whistler for the weekend: good food recs there too??

Vij's for most excellent Indian food. Mmmmm! You have to get there early though, there are no reservations and the line can get long. Next door is Rangoli, which is by the same people and equally delicious but more casual and does take-home (to be heated at home) food too.

Vij's is good but the wait is no joke. I've been quoted 2 hours every time I go - but they have servers that go around with little appetizers while you wait and the bar's always open and serving.

I recommend Kirin for dim sum and Peaceful Restaurant (Chinese) for their beef rolls and handmade noodles. I also like Santouka Ramen.
