Has anyone who resides in the EU applied for this tax relief and ship out their jewellery for repair/re-model/etc. to a non-EU country?
I made enquiry with the tax office about sending a piece of diamond jewellery out to the US for re-modelling, and got a lengthy and detailed reply on how to avoid paying full import duty when the item is returned to me by applying for OPR in advance.
The piece of jewellery in question is my platinum set 1.19ct EC and the full import duty is quite substantial.
Just wondering if anyone has gone through with applying OPR as I would like to hear your experience, good or bad, so that I can better prepare myself for it.
