Pictures of medium light, well saturated blue sapphire?

I am starting to search for my holy grail blue sapphire. As part of my learning process, it would be extremely helpful to see pictures of blue sapphires you consider to be medium light (or just medium) tone with excellent saturation. If you have any pictures (of your stones or ones that you admire) and could post them I'd be ever so grateful!

I would describe this as medium tone, well saturated. Is that accurate?

I think so. Here's a pear sapphire I own with a similar tone and color. It does not shift. It has an AGL memo (heat only).

So when you say med. light is that more with a grey mod. in it?

I know vendor photos always suck but I would deem this med.light sapphire that is well saturated.

Beautiful stone, TL. Would you consider that medium-light? The saturation (especially on the glorious tip!) is stunning.

I would consider this a medium tone I guess. I'm guessing many medium light blues have gray modifiers. Ideally I'd fine one without it. I'd rather gray than brown though.

That stone is amazing. It is a richer color than I would have thought for a medium blue. But that must be the saturation. This is very help - thanks to you all.

This is what I would consider my dream medium-light fully saturated. But I'm sure it would cost a zillion dollars and take years to find.

Rosebloom,
Yes, the saturation is what makes it pop even though the tone is medium. Wish that sapphire was mine though. I picked it off the web so I don't know who owns it today.

Yup, a fully saturated medium light that costs $$$$$, I'm sure.

Some others, less ideal but also hopefully less $$$$$:

Some from Planetary Gems. I have read the reviews on here and am quite skeptical of these images.

I love this color (although from another source that might not have 100% accurate images...)

This one, in Sotheby's HK auction next month for a few mill.

Edit: Darn, PS made it darker than it is on the Sotheby's site!

LOL! I carefully posted stones NOT from NSC but only posted the link that Pregcurious asked about. Picture is one thing, price is another thing.

Thanks, Chrono.

Am I right to see a green modifier in this stone instead of the prized red/purple modifier? I still love this color!

TL,
This is new! I've never seen this blue sapphire set. Lovely!

Thanks Chrono & Rosebloom. I've had it for a while. I wrote up a whole thread on it and although it has an AIGS report, I sent it to AGL as well, and they confirmed it was heat only. Here's the original thread on the stone if anyone is interested.

I would say this pear is medium saturation.

I have another round sapphire that is also medium light in tone, but slightly more gray. I think it's an umba sapphire. It's in that three stone ring with the chrysoberyl sides. Here's a picture of it, and it also has an AGL report with heat only.

Just for comparison sake, as you can see, it's less saturated than many of the sapphires posted already in this thread. I really love it though because it's well cut, large, and sparkles like mad.

I prefer lighter sapphires, and I"m not a fan of that medium dark to dark tone that is popular now because of the Kate/Diana ring.

TL, I LOVE this stone. I too prefer lighter sapphires. And I think I'm ok sacrificing some saturation if it's really well cut and sparkly (by sapphire standards anyways).

I am not a hard precision cut stone type of person but my opinion is that the lighter the tone is, the more important role cutting plays because the brilliance cannot "hide" under the cover of a darker tone.

TL,
So this round Umba sapphire isn't set yet?

Chrono, I totally agree. With light sapphires a fabulous cut is pretty important.

I also love the look of this one.

Thanks again Rosebloom.

Chrono,
It's the stone in the middle of this three stone ring, surrounded by two chrysoberyls.

A new user searchingforsapphires asked about this stone:
http://www.africagems.com/blue-sapphire-g2000-1423.html
I think this a picture of a decent medium sapphire. It doesn't have the crazy good saturation of the NSC pic, but it's very pretty in the pic

The thread is here:https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/sapphire-buying-help.191864/#post-3494367#p3494367, and posters mention that the hue and tone are different in the video.

TL, that's an amazing match in tone and saturation. It's so common to see these with white diamonds because it can be so difficult to match with another colored stone.

Thanks, I get lots of compliments on it when I'm wearing it. People love the color combination.
