What did you do with that rose quartz in the end? :?:

It's sitting in a bank vault. I have a bunch of loose stones there that for one reason or another, I cannot part with, and I will pass down, or get to setting eventually.

At least it is in good company!

I think I might buy a rose quartz as well, there is this interesting little one from Uli:

I don't know what to do with it, but it is small, cute and probably inexpensive in the end.

When and if you decide to set your stone please let us know!

That's really pretty. If I set it, I'll continue this thread, which is an old one. It is huge, so if I ever do decide to set it, it will be in silver, and a pendant.

It is truly gorgeous, TL. I'm afraid you won't be able to stand up with it around your neck! :D Ulli's cutting is always fascinating & beautiful. Most of his stones seem almost best to keep as ornaments -- setting them would hide some of that stunning craft.

TL,
I've never before felt the desire to own rose quartz - but I do now! Your piece is lovely! If you ever want to sell it let me know (I guess I'll need to take a number and get in line, lol) I think if I owned it I'd most likely keep it unset and just admire it that way.

Thanks JewelFreak, Katharath,

It's like a paperweight, I concur. It's really beautiful though, and has a soft glowy look to it, and Uli's cutting is superb.

I would certainly use it as a paperweight considering the size; something to feast my eyes on when I'm tired of all the paperwork.

Or I could use it as a deadly weapon considering the culet is so fierce.

Thanks Preg. It's a really fine piece of material. Lots of rose quartz has veins and cracks, and this one is very large and very clean with just a little bit of the typical sleepiness you find in high quality material. I like rose quartz a lot, especially this Madagascar material.
