14k Yellow Gold 10-11mm White Freshwater Pearl Necklace 18" by La Regis

I saw this recently on Amazon, and the asking price is USD 250.

I don't know much about pearls or manufacturers.
My question is : is it worth it?

I hope I didn't post this in wrong forum.

In my opinion it is not. Not when you have the reputable online vendors we do. I would much prefer to buy from them, knowing they know their pearls and stand behind them. Sorry. :(

They're having some great sales now at Pearl Paradise, and it might be worth checking out. With free shipping and a 90 day return policy-no questions asked, you really can't go wrong. And those people know pearls.

The company La Regis sells other items on Amazon. After looking at their stock, I do notice they are less than accurate about the description on this item.
http://www.amazon.com/Freshwater-Cultured-Pearl-Necklace-Sterling-silver/dp/B00AQN1GNG/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A3PVX7GEV3KTC1 ( there are no natural black freshwater pearls, these are dyed, but this is nowhere in their description)

Since the seller gives you no grading scale for these pearls, I would question if this is a stock photo or how off round the strand you're getting will be. Also the tiny size of the fish hook clasp is out of proportion to the size of the pearls in the strand. That said, the clasp would be difficult to close with the large pearls in the way. A 10-11mm ball clasp with 10-11mm pearls would be much easier.
