I got this as a push present from DH in 2005. I still have it for sale on DB and LT, but after getting it back from the jewelers all spiffed up and shiny, I think I am going to keep it! :D What a difference a little cleaning makes!

I think that was a good decision. I personally wouldn't want to part with a push present as they carry more sentimental value to me then even my ering set!

Cleaning of jewellery is underrated. Diamonds require daily cleaning and coloured stones can pull it off for a few extra days. Glad that you have renewed love for your ring.

Practically the funniest thing I have ever read on PS. Sox used to clean her jewelery by putting in the microwave with dawn/ water. She didn't realize you can't put metal in there! Yssie was kind enough to set her straight.

I was cleaning my rings by putting them in a cup of water and a bit of dish soap and microwaving them. It's how a couple of my friends do it. I had no idea it wasn't a good thing.

Please do not set your house on fire! Yes, no more microwaving anything metallic.

Glad you are keeping your ring. I was kind of perplexed on why you would sell it, but figured you had the PS bug. We all seem to go through times when we long for something different after someone posts a new ring or new stone. Then we kick ourselves for selling our stuff. lol I think the ring looks amazing after being cleaned. What a difference!

Yep. I can tell you the EXACT bug I had: wanted to use the money to buy diamond and sapphire stacking rings to go with my 10 year upgrade E-ring. BUT, my awesome jeweler is going to get them for me. They will probably be half of what I planned on spending...so I can get them for Christmas. And keep my ring...

Way to go, girl! Have your cake, er....rings...and keep 'em too. What a pretty ring -- I'd hang onto that if it were mine! I'm amazed you didn't blow your microwave up, btw.
