I've been lurking around here for quite a while, but I've finally bought my first loose stone. It's a cheapie, to get me started with fairly low risk, to try to see what you get from a reputable vendor (used the sticky list in this forum) compared with the listing - so I can set my expectations realistically.

I'm killing many birds with one stone (sorry for the pun) because I 'think' I like pear cut, but I'm not sure, and I have no idea what size I'll like - I have skinny fingers. So I guess once I receive it, if I love it I'll contact a jeweller about having a setting done. It shouldn't be too expensive to set, I like quite simple settings.

What do PSers think?

I like it! You'll have to show more pics when you receive it.

Colour-wise, I like the green. Cut-wise, I'm not liking that large window.

Ditto, Chrono. Nice color, big window. But great learning stone -- inexpensive.

Yup ditto but for $26 you can't go wrong. I'm ashamed to say how much I spent on CS's before I found PS and realized what a HUGE waste of money and mistakes I had made.

My sapphire is set - it's on its way to me, and I think it looks great https://www.etsy.com/au/transaction/139333622

Oh my, what a very cool bypass design for a single pear.
